KEEP TRICK OR TREATERS SAFE THIS HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!

Tips to keep kids safe while trick-or-treating.  Some suggestions include:

  • Never trick-or-treat alone
  • Never enter a stranger’s house
  • Wear a light-colored costume or put reflective tape on a costume so the child is visible to cars
  • Never run across the middle of a street – stay on the sidewalks and cross at crosswalks only
  • Make sure children can see clearly if they are wearing a mask
  • Don’t eat any goodies until you have inspected them
  • Take a flashlight
  • For older kids who are going with a group of friends – find out where they are going, with whom, and when they will return
  • Turn on the FIND function on the their phones
  • All children’s costumes should be flame retardant and fit properly.  Avoid minor bumps, brusies, and serious falls with costume sense
Have a smart safe FUN time.

According to Safekids.org, children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car on Halloween than on any other day of the year. That’s a scary statistic, but parents can proactively prep their little ghosts and goblins to practice pedestrian safety on Halloween night. Take action with these tips.
