Peachtree Corners is Gwinnett County’s newest city. Situated in one of the fastest growing counties in Georgia, Peachtree Corners is conveniently located to major highways, I-85, I-285 and GA 400 and just 30 minutes northeast of Atlanta. Founded on July 1, 2012, it is home to 42,773 residents. The new city is 17.37 square miles in size and is located in the southwest corner of the county. Seven miles of the Chattahoochee River define its western border.
The city’s new Town Center, featuring retail shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, townhomes and a Town Green, is under construction. The 21-acre site is located on Peachtree Parkway and Medlock Bridge Road across from The Forum. The development is expected to be complete in the fall of 2018. The Town Green will be the site for community gatherings and outdoor entertainment. The city’s Veterans Monument will also be a feature on the Town Green.
The city is home to more than 2,300 businesses, no millage rate, the average household income is $94,594, the population is 42,773, the median home value is $280,100 (Source: U.S. Census Bureau)and is a Certified Green City.
The city has developed a new comprehensive traffic plan, and has plans to transform the 500-acre Technology Park into an Innovation Hub. New housing, aimed at attracting the millennial work force is under construction in Technology Park. The new 295-unit development will tie into the city’s 11.5 mile multi-use-trail system. Construction of the trail system is underway and when complete will crisscross throughout the community connecting residents with shops, restaurants office parks and entertainment venues.
Prototype Prime, the city’s startup incubator, which opened in 2016, provides support for early stage software and hardware technology startups. The 12,500 square foot incubator offers open, collaborative workspaces, a podcast room, event space, and a design & development lab. It also offers access to education, tools, venture capitalists and more to help entrepreneurs launch and scale their startups.
City Hall recently purchased an office building within Technology Park and moved into its new space December 2017. City Hall’s address is 310 Technology Parkway.
